Event 5 Pollington Handicap Series
Travelling across from Leeds the heavens opened up, 50mph M62 flooded, I am thinking no this isn't going to happen this evening. Turning off at Whiltley Bridge the rain stops and on arrival at the start sun out??. Dark clouds in the sky but the wind looks like it is in out favour, whoopee.
Strangely 33 riders turned out for what appeared to be a very wet run. The poor people who had ridden out on their bikes had come though the torrential rain. I thinks what sort of a person turns out in these horrendous expected conditions. Well it's a true cyclist eh!. Thinks the marshal's need a mental assessment, but seriously great to see all that helped.
There appeared to be a very mixed evening with, "I was slow" " Shouldn't have done I wasn't well" to "I got a PB"
Well done to all who turned out for an excellent evening. As I set off home turning on to the A19 the pitter patter of rain started and was in full flow by the time I got to the M62. So those that had ridden out more than likely got an other soaking.
